Gwen Bloom, LCSW

I’m a Licensed Clinical Social Worker with a lifelong dedication to helping people navigate emotional pain, life transitions, and the complexities of being human. I earned my Bachelor’s degree in Social Work through an accelerated BSW program at Rutgers University, and went on to complete my Master of Social Work at New York University.

With over 40 years of experience in the field, I’ve worked across a wide range of treatment modalities and settings—including inpatient hospitalization, outpatient clinics, partial hospitalization, intensive outpatient programs, and community agencies—within both public and private sectors. My extensive background incorporates diverse theoretical orientations, with special attention to trauma and its impact on the individual and the family system.

I am extensively trained in family systems therapy and bring a systemic lens to all my clinical work—helping clients explore how relational patterns, both past and present, shape emotional experiences and behavioral dynamics. I’m also certified in Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) and incorporate practical skills to support emotional regulation, mindfulness, and interpersonal effectiveness. Additionally, I’m a Certified First Responder Counselor, trained to work with individuals in high-stress, high-responsibility roles.

Over the past decade, I’ve focused my work within a boutique private practice setting, offering individualized therapy for adults managing anxiety, depression, ADHD, grief, burnout, and life transitions. I have a particular passion for working with women—whether they are navigating motherhood, midlife shifts, or redefining identity and purpose.

In addition to individual therapy, I facilitate virtual process groups, including:

  • Women in Transition – Exploring identity shifts, endings, and new beginnings

  • Moms Circle – A supportive space for mothers balancing care and selfhood

  • Women Over 50 – Redefining purpose, identity, and vitality in midlife and beyond

All sessions are conducted via SimplePractice, a secure, HIPAA-compliant telehealth platform that makes therapy accessible, confidential, and easy to navigate from wherever you are.

My goal is to provide a space where you feel safe, heard, and empowered to move forward—on your own terms and in your own time.
