Gwen Bloom, LCSW

I have been providing psychotherapy since I graduated from the MSW program at New York University in 1985. Prior to that I completed my undergraduate degree at Rutgers University with an Advanced standing BSW. During the last 30 years, I have had the opportunity to work in many clinical settings in both Florida and New Jersey and am licensed in both states to practice. I have worked in both the public and private sector specializing in adolescence, adults, couples and families. Additionally, I have worked in inpatient, outpatient, partial hospitalization, in-home, hospice and school settings. Throughout my career, I have been mentored by some of the most well reputed clinicians and doctors in the field. I spent 12 years in a group private practice in Florida with a team model approach as the designated family therapist.

After relocating to the North East in 2001, I took a position with Trinitas Regional Medical Center as a clinician on the chid adolescent outpatient unit where I co-created a psycho-educational ADHD track for children and families. I was then promoted to the position of clinical director for their off site therapeutic high school, Lamberts Mill Academy. LMA is an out of district placement for emotionally disturbed teens. As clinical director, I was responsible for all the clinical components of the program including all admissions, supervision of a clinical team, and implementation of programming. Concurrently, I have provided intensive in home counseling to adolescents and their families as a subcontractor for Cooperative Counseling.

In recent years, I have been trained in DBT (Dialectical Behavior Therapy) and implemented a full track at the therapeutic High School for teens who are suffering from mood and personality disorders. At this juncture, my focus is private practice and to continue specializing in DBT as well as traditional psychotherapy with teens, adults, couples and families.

I love and am passionate about what I do  and continue to look forward  in supporting people during their journey of personal growth.
